hall & oates in the woods

Monday, April 27th, 2009

each sunday, we take lunches to many areas of atlanta.  one place is near some RR tracks in a patch of woods.

some guys have set up their own shacks, or huts, or lean-to’s, and we’re getting to know and love them.

last week, we were hanging out, sharing a meal together, and somebody got started singing ‘hall & oates’ tunes.  don’t know how it started, but there we were, standing in the woods, around the back of my truck, singin and laughin and havin a good time….”remember this one?”  or “how bout this one?”  “was that hall and oates?”…..”oh, yeah, that’s a good one”

sharing food is more than just sharing food.  (don’t worry, we pray together sometimes, too…)

eh

“i can’t go for that, noooooo, no can do”  (stuck in your head now. HA!)

biker chicks

Friday, April 17th, 2009

A couple of Sundays ago, we had some help making sandwiches from some biker chicks!
I had received an e-mail from Terri Gastin, the “Queen Bee”, Vice President and Founder of Platinum Peaches MC (Motorcycle Club).
Terri, along with Piper and Treasure (her biker name) showed up to help us make sandwiches and pack lunches.  But they didn’t bring their motorcycles!  At least not this time.
Turns out these gals along with some others in their group volunteer for various organizations once a month.  She found out about Dude through the ajc.com

Do Good Channel website and decided to give us a try.

These ladies were very nice and kept making pictures of us!  Terri lives in Douglasville and said she would try to collect some food and personal hygiene donations for us.
Thanks, ladies!  You can come back anytime.  Bring your friends AND your motorcycles next time!
