Update

hola!

amigos, i hope y’all are having a great week!

tuesday, a crew prepped and shared 100+ meals, and some clothing, blankets, and a little bit of God’s word. AWESOME BABY!!

i’ll keep this short, but, at the bottom, i’ve pasted a note from a young man who’s being bitten by the “share bug”.

so, saturday, let’s meet at 12:30, and we’ll assemble sack lunches. come if you can, bring anything lunch related, especially fruit, and we’ll put it all together, and give it away! (don’t bring bread, we usually have plenty, but, if not, i’ll bring a bunch)

c u saturday!

(from Michael Winslett)….
Let’s all continue to not forget about the one’s in need that are close to home.
A man named Donald walked up Sunday night at Crave (a youth gathering) after we played our first songs. He was an interesting man, wearing an “I love Jesus” hat.
After I talked with him a bit he asked me for some money for some food. I told him what we were there for and invited him in after telling him i’d take care of him (with the food issue).
He came inside sat in the back on the floor with all the other kids and listened to the rest of the message and then our last set of songs.
After Crave he came to the front of the stage waiting for me to get off the stage after we played. I came down to where he was at and thanked him for coming in a listening and talked with him some more.
He’s staying behind Kroger on Fairburn rd. with some other men we visited recently. I told him that we do this every sunday night and he’s always welcome here.
I gave him some money and as he turned to leave and started to walk away i thought to myself…”that’s it…that’s all im gonna say?” so i litteraly grabbed his jacket and
stopped him and kinda turned him around back towards me and i said “were you blessed tonight?”…i don’t know why i asked him that…i just did, i guess i felt as if i wanted to know
that he didnt just come in sit through a service and music just for some money….whether he did or not, and whatever he was intending on using the money for, I could tell i caught him off-guard when i asked him that question.
he answered me and said something like..”oh yes, that guys’ message was great and you guys were rockin” or something…i got the vibe that he felt like he didn’t understand why i was talking to him, or why i even invited him in.
and why i KEPT talking to him. I dont really know what the point of my story is but it just brings back thoughts of all of us talking about how we should always make the people we share with feel like they are one of us, no different,
they are people with hearts, minds, and beautiful souls and most have had normal lives just like all of us. I’m sure I got more of a blessing out of him being there than he did.
Whatever he was hungry for ill never know either, was it a burger, a drink, or was he truly hungry for God’s presence, whether he was waiting impaintly in the back for us to get done so i’d give him some money ill never know either.
But, I guess God just laid it on my heart to at least try and give him a small brief glimpse of God’s amazing Love and kindness.

The L ord replies, “I have seen violence done to the helpless, and I have heard the groans of the poor.
Now I will rise up to rescue them, as they have longed for me to do.” Psalm 12:5
