yesterday, after all the food was prepped and ready to go, we gathered for a meeting (20-30 of us, i think..). we always do this on saturday when it’s almost time to go out.
we usually decide who’s “going out” (or, going downtown), and what we’ll be serving in the upcoming weeks. then, we might have an “inspirational word” from someone. then, we’ll say a prayer and go our separate ways; some downtown, and some to tidy up our messes.
so, yesterday we gathered, and i said “i don’t have anything inspirational today. anybody got something?”
Jackie spoke up (and i hesitate to use quotes…that would indicate i could remember exactly what she said. not quite possible, but…..) “i do. i think it’s inspirational that all of you are here today, giving of your time to help others”
